Japanese Day

Wednesday 2nd April

Japanese Day at Murrumbeena Primary is a celebration of all things Japanese.

Students will take part in a variety of different activities connected to Japanese culture. These activities tie in with their weekly Japanese lessons, but are an opportunity to focus on culture as well as language. Students are encouraged to dress up for the day.

It can be as simple as cherry blossoms as a hair decoration, a white shirt with a large red circle to represent the flag of Japan or a samurai helmet made from a sheet of newspaper. Costumes can also be as creative and elaborate as a sushi roll, an anime character or a bottle of soy sauce.
