Students will be visiting the Queen Victoria Market as an introduction into their new unit of inquiry 'How we organise ourselves'. Students will need to bring $5 with them on this excursion to spend to purchase food at the markets and will have a picnic lunch when they arrive back at school. Students will be learning about budgeting and thinking about how they can spend their money wisely in order to prepare a delicious picnic lunch. They will need to think about needs versus wants when purchasing their food items and negotiate if there will be enough for everyone to share when planning for their lunch
