At Murrumbeena Primary School, we are proud to be a community where curiosity flourishes and learning is purposeful. Our mission is to provide exemplary teaching and rich, engaging learning experiences that ignite students’ interests and broaden their understanding of the world and its people. As an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme school, we are committed to developing young learners who think critically, act with care, and are motivated to succeed in their future global society.
Our balance of explicit teaching and inquiry ensures students build strong foundational skills and know how to apply them meaningfully. Through clear learning intentions, success criteria, and the explicit teaching of the five PYP Approaches to Learning*, students understand what they are learning, why it matters, and how to be successful. This empowers them with genuine ownership and agency which are the key drivers of the high engagement we see across all year levels in our school.
Wellbeing underpins everything we do. By fostering resilience, encouraging students to take risks in their learning, and celebrating progress, we help students develop confidence, courage, and a strong sense of self-belief. Our values of Respect, Responsibility, Relationships and Resilience guide how we learn and interact each day, creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students feel known, valued, and able to thrive.
In partnership with families, we aim to nurture life-long learners who are curious, capable and connected to their community.
We look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant school and sharing the joy and excitement of learning at Murrumbeena Primary School.
