2026 Preps - Transition 2

At Murrumbeena Primary School, we offer an extensive transition program designed to support both parents and students as they prepare for the first year of school.
We invite parents of enrolled students to our Parent Information Evening on Wednesday, 5th November, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the school hall. This session will provide all prep parents with an overview of the transition program, guidance on how to prepare their children for school, and general information about teaching and learning at Murrumbeena Primary School.
To ensure a smooth transition into school life, our Transition Coordinator will connect with your child's kindergarten, either by phone or in person, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's needs. Following this, we offer a five-session transition program for all enrolled prep students, commencing on 11th November 2025, during Term Four.
These transition sessions are designed to help our future prep students get acquainted with their new environment, meet their future classmates and staff, and start feeling part of the school community. Families will receive their child's transition group placement at the Parent Information Evening when they collect their child’s welcome pack. Please note that group placements will remain fluid as we get to know the students better. The final groupings of learners and classes will be confirmed by the final transition session.
All sessions are 9:30am - 12:30pm.
